SIQC Replatformed Accounts: Cost Allocation in Loop

Last updated: October 14, 2026

GL code updates were previously completed by returning a completed Excel file of unallocated charges. In Loop, these charges are listed in the [Your company] GL Coding / Next Week Review view, where GL codes can be entered directly. To find the view, select Views in the left-hand panel and look under Payables.

Cost allocation by charge line item. GL codes are assigned to each charge line item, not just to the invoice as a whole. Each charge on an invoice, such as linehaul, fuel, or an accessorial, can be coded to its own GL code or cost center. A single charge can also be split across multiple codes.

Before you begin

Admin or Accountant access is required to edit GL codes. If a required GL code or cost center is not available in Loop, please contact your Loop Customer Success Manager to have it added.

Assign GL codes to a single invoice

  1. Open the [Your company] GL Coding / Next Week Review view and select an invoice.

  2. Select the Accounting tab. Each charge line item is listed with its description, amount, GL code, and cost center.

  3. Select Edit Cost Allocation.

  4. For each charge line item without a code, search for the GL code or cost center by code or description, and select it. Different line items on the same invoice can use different codes.

  5. Save. Each selected code is applied to 100% of its line item.

Split a charge line item across multiple codes

  1. Select the three-dot menu on the line item.

  2. Choose Assign multiple GL codes.

  3. Add the codes and enter the allocation as amounts or percentages.

  4. Save. The total must equal 100% of the line-item amount.

Assign GL codes to multiple invoices

  1. Open the Payables table.

  2. Select the three-dot menu in the top right and choose Edit Cost Allocation.

  3. Filter for missing GL codes or cost centers. Additional filters include vendor, date, and shipment number.

  4. Select the charge line items, choose Edit GL codes, apply the code, and save.

Charges that cannot yet be coded remain in the view for the following week's review.

Bulk upload GL codes with a file

For large volumes, GL codes can also be assigned using a file, where this feature is enabled for your account:

  1. Download the charge line items missing GL codes or cost centers from the Invoices table or the [Your company] GL Coding / Next Week Review view. The file includes line-item details across freight, parcel, and consolidated freight invoices.

  2. Enter the GL codes and cost centers for each line item.

  3. Upload the completed file to apply the codes in bulk.

For assistance enabling this feature or submitting the completed file, please contact your Loop Customer Success Manager.
