Intro to Loop Intelligence

Last updated: April 7, 2026

Loop Intelligence is your reporting and analytics platform — built directly into Loop so you can get answers about your freight spend, carrier performance, and logistics operations without leaving the app.

It gives you a single source of truth across all carriers, modes, and business units, with dashboards and reports that update automatically as your data comes in.

What you can do in Intelligence:

  • Monitor your total freight spend and costs by carrier, mode, and time period

  • Catch billing exceptions, duplicate charges, and delivery failures before they become expensive

  • Allocate freight costs to the right GL codes and cost centers

  • Build your own custom shipment-level reports without any technical skills

  • Set up automated alerts and scheduled exports so your team is always informed

How to get there: Select "Intelligence" from the left-hand navigation in Loop. Your home page will show the reports available to your account.

Where Intelligence is headed

Loop Intelligence is on a four-phase roadmap toward full decision intelligence:

The first phase — Descriptive — is available now.

How the Platform Works

This section explains what you're looking at and how data flows through Intelligence. You don't need to build anything — this is purely to help you understand what you're seeing.

Core Concepts

Concept

What It Is

Why It Matters

Data Source

The systems where your logistics data originates. Intelligence connects directly to these sources.

You're working with current, source-of-truth data rather than a stale copy.

Data Models / Datasets

Cleaned, standardized versions of raw data used consistently across all reports.

Metrics mean the same thing no matter which report you're in.

Reports (Workbooks)

The reports and dashboards you view in Intelligence.

This is where you spend most of your time.

Pages

Tabs within a report, each showing a different view or topic.

Easily switch between perspectives without leaving the report.

Elements

The building blocks on a page — tables, charts, filters, text.

Changing one element (like a filter) can update others automatically.

Tables

Column-based data views that power most reports.

Calculations are consistent and scalable — not manual.

Grouping

Data is summarized by category (e.g., by week, carrier, or customer).

Turns shipment-level detail into high-level insights.

Filters / Controls

Tools to adjust what data is shown — dates, carriers, modes, etc.

Customize what you see without changing the report for others.

Exports

Options to download or schedule report delivery.

Share insights with your team automatically.
